ELANBACH: A BREATH OF WELSH AIR
Let us introduce ourselves.

Elanbach is a fabric company that is rooted in Wales, the brainchild of Sir Bernard Ashley (who co founded Laura Ashley with his first wife, Laura). Elanbach is a unique enterprise that brings together cutting edge digital technology, the creative powers of three blue chip designers and caring customer service that is directly linked to our location in rural Wales. One of the things that makes Elanbach so special is that we are not driven by corporate directives or focus groups, but by the talent and vision of our creative team. Each of our core designers - Tom Parr, Regine Burnell and Emma Shuckburgh - has a style and aesthetic that is personal to them from classic to country, energetic to elegant. This means Elanbach is not restricted by one signature look - there are designs here to fit with every home, from comfortable country houses to chic city apartments.

To understand the design potential within Elanbach, it is necessary to have a basic grasp of digital technology. If you have a computer at home with an inkjet printer, you can print onto paper anything from photographs to artwork. Elanbach uses the same technology but prints onto cloth (cotton or cotton/linen mix). From the eight basic colours used, there are estimated to be in the region of 16.2 million colour variations.

Over five years, we have already built up an excellent body of designs from simple geometric prints to heart-jolting stripes; from elaborately drawn florals to ethnic inspired motifs. At Decorex 2006, we are launching a further five collections, making us one of the most prolific design companies in the industry.

From an interior design point of view, the potential of digital printing is enormous. Customers are able to order designs in a colourway of their own choosing, perhaps to match with certain flooring or paint. We can also supply plain fabric in any specified shade. Certain motifs can be removed if required, for example a background stripe or spot. And we can print the exact meterage required, so negating the need for pattern matching on different lengths.

We really do want to help our customers in every way we can. To find out more, visit elanbach.com.
